Extract Pine Restore Brain Injury

Antioxidant extracted from pine bark can help treat people with traumatic brain injuries, according to researchers from Auckland.

The study, called enzogenol extract given to 60 patients with brain damage in three months. The results showed that this extract can help improve memory and focus.

Professor Valery Feigin career specialist AUT says patients taking the extract was better able to remember the names of individuals or user. Difficulty remembering simple things is certainly a common problem for people with brain injury.

This result is certainly a great new and exciting. Especially now still little available medical evidence based care for people with mild brain injury problems, he said.

"In addition to brain exercises, there are now new ways to repair the damage to the brain, although the initial discovery of new," says Professor Feigin, quoted in The Courier Mail, Tuesday (23/11). Therefore, it expects to soon launch a large-scale trial to evaluate the success of this pilot study. (Pri/OL-06)
