Rights of People with Cancer!

Every February 15 is celebrated as the Day of the World Childhood Cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of child mortality worldwide.

Because of that, every Indonesian child with cancer are entitled to care and treatment. Despite the treatment, the right to learn and play right they should not be taken away.

To that end, the Yellow Ribbon Foundation for Children Indonesia (YPKAI) which was established in 2007 to provide hospital school education free of charge for children of cancer patients in Dharmais Cancer Hospital, Jakarta.



A total of 13 volunteers YPKAI in turn provide assistance to teachers and a variety of subjects, religion, and art. The class was made relaxed and warm. Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from students to housewives.

The atmosphere was certainly very helpful for the child with cancer. Nico, for example. When class was over and went back to bed to continue treatment, he did not lose the spirit of learning.

The World Health Organization or WHO noted, from 6.25 million cases of cancer are diagnosed each year, four percent, or about 250 thousand of whom are children.

In Indonesia, about 150 cancer patients of a million children, or two to three percent of the number of cases in all age ranges. There are an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 new cases per year.
